Recipe Ideas To Help You Meal Plan (Based on Sales This Week!)

Looking for some meal inspiration when planning out dinners for this coming week?  Here are some suggestions based on what I found to be on sale this coming week at Tops Markets (2/18 thru 2/24/18 CLICK HERE for ad scan).  Some of the things you may already have on hand, so feel free to print this list to check off the items you need! Upside Down Shepard's Pie
  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1⁄2 cup kernel corn
  • 1⁄2 cup beef stock
  • 1⁄4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1⁄3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1⁄4 cup diced green pepper

Spaghetti Pie II
  • 1 (6 ounce) package spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons butter 
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese 
  • 2 eggs, beaten 
  • 1 pound lean ground beef 
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion 
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced 
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes 
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste 
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar 
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano 
  • 1 cup cottage cheese 
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Save $0.50 on ONE (1) Contadina Whole, Diced or Crushed Tomatoes 28 oz. (Available at Walmart)

Grandma Smith's Tuna Noodle Casserole
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans canned tuna, drained
  • 2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 4 -5 cups macaroni, cooked and hot
  • 1 cup carrot, coarsely grated
  • 1 cup celery, thinly sliced
  • 1⁄4 cup green onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups frozen peas
  • salt and pepper
  • crushed potato chips, for topping (optional)

Potato Kielbasa Skillet
  • 1 pound red potatoes (3-4 medium), cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh thyme or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 pound Polish Kielbasa Sausage Rope, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 4 cups fresh baby spinach
  • 5 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled



Shrimp BLT
  • 16 medium shrimp (about 12 ounces), peeled and deveined
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 dill pickle sandwich slices, chopped, plus more slices for serving
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 8 slices potato bread
  • 4 inner Bibb lettuce leaves
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced

Baked Cannelloni
  • 1 19oz pkg Italian Sausage links, decased
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 med Onion, finely chopped
  • 4 oz Mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 12 oz Mozzarella cheese, cubed or shredded
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • 6 tbsp Butter
  • 6 tbsp Flour
  • 3 cups Milk, (not skim)
  • 12 Cannelloni pasta shells
  • 1/2 cup Grated mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup Shredded parmesan
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano

Penne Salami Bake
  • 2 cups penne pasta, uncooked measurement
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 medium green sweet pepper, chopped
  • 1⁄3 lb salami, cubed (might have to ask deli to just cut a hunk so you can cube these at home)
  • 1 (4 ounce) can black olives, sliced style
  • 1 cup swiss cheese, grated
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper

Macaroni and Cheese with Caramelized Onions and Bacon
  • 1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni 
  • 1/4 cup butter 
  • 1/2 cup sour cream 
  • 1 egg, beaten 
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened 
  • 4 cups grated Asiago cheese 
  • 4 cups grated Vermont Cheddar cheese 
  • 4 slices bacon 
  • 2 tablespoons butter 
  • 1 large onion, sliced thin 
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced 
  • 1/8 teaspoon brown sugar 
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley 
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs 
  • 2 tablespoons butter 
  • 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk 
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard 
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika 
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Vegetarian Potpie
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 carrots, diced
  • 3 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 8 ounces white mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • Kosher salt
  • 1 14-ounce package extra-firm tofu, drained, patted dry and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 2 cups frozen peas
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 5 slices potato bread

  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 large white onion, diced medium (2 1/2 cups)
  • 1 head garlic, cloves peeled and roughly chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1 1/4 cups strained fresh orange juice (from 4 juice oranges)
  • 1/3 cup fresh lime juice (from 6 limes)
  • Coarse salt and ground pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh oregano leaves, roughly chopped
  • 1 boneless pork shoulder roast (3 1/2 to 4 pounds), fat trimmed

Fisherman's Quick Fish
  • 4 (6 ounce) fillets cod 
  • 1 cup creamy Italian-style salad dressing 
  • 1/4 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 
  • 1 cup crushed potato chips (try using Dill Pickle chips for extra flavor!)

Fish Cakes
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise 
  • 1 egg 
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice 
  • 1 1/2 pounds cooked cod

  • 3 slices whole-wheat bread 
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Marinated Greek Lamb Chops
  • 8 lamb chops
  • 1⁄3 cup olive oil
  • 2 lemons, juice of
  • 1⁄2 cup fresh oregano (chopped) or 1⁄4 cup dried oregano
  • 6 garlic cloves (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper

Au Gratin Peas & Potatoes
  • 6 bacon, strips divided
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cups sliced peeled cooked potatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen peas, cooked and drained
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1⁄2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1⁄2 cup milk

  • 4 -5 slices bread (I use regular white bread)
  • 1 lb bulk sausage (any flavor)
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (3 ounce) bag pre-cooked bacon (pieces)
